    During his tenure at ArianeGroup, he managed the electrical payload operations and helped the company to coordinate launch base activities during Ariane5, Soyuz and Vega launches, but also prepared the commissioning and Ariane6 first launch campaign. 

     

    He joined Venture Orbital Systems as Head of Electronic & Software Systems and lead a team to design the avionics of the Launcher Zephyr.

    Emanuele Costanzo is an Italian Experimental Lead Flight Test Engineer -with several (flight and ground) test hours of experience on Propulsion and energy systems, but also Handling Qualities, Flight Control and Aeroelastic testing, on all Airbus commercial aircraft including A400M- and he has been appointed in July 2021 as Airbus Commercial Senior eXpert in Propulsion and Energy Systems Testing. 

     

    Emanuele is proud to say that he is a genuine Airbus product starting his professional experience in Aérospatiale Design Office Propulsion Systems department, after graduating as an aeronautical engineer (1998) in Palermo (Italy). He joined Airbus Commercial Flight Test and Integration Centre in 2001, as Flight Test Specialist engineer, graduating as Experimental Lead Flight Test Engineer in 2004 in EPNER. 

     

    His experience and expertise are corroborated by close collaboration activities - with the other Airbus Engineering centres of competence and functions, as well as with the engine manufacturers and systems’ suppliers - aimed at providing operational inputs relevant for the design, to the End to End V&V strategy/means and to the in service operation support. 

     

    He has gathered also management experiences as first line manager (2011-2018) and as Band IV manager (2018-July 2021). 

     

    Emanuele is 45y old, is married and he is the proud father of two boys (14y and 10y old); he enjoys his family (at first place) and also likes piloting, volunteering, listening/playing music and playing (and watching) football.

    He obtained his engineering degree Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC, Barcelona) and the EPFL Lausanne (Switzerland) to develop afterwards a PhD in aeronautical systems in the frame of a collaboration between Laboratoire d’Architecture et Analyse de Systèmes (LAAS-CNRS, Toulouse) and the enterprise Groupe SNECMA(Paris).  At GTD he has contributed as algorithms expert in ground segment systems such as SCTV2, SAUVEGARDE, SOUMISSION and EMUL (French Guyana CSG) with a good expertise and knowledge on safety system on ground from critical requirements and algorithms architecture design perspective. In the ground segment domain, he is currently the coordinator of the SAMMBA H2020 project with the objective of prototyping systems (IT mechanical and fluid) based on 4.0 technologies applied to spaceports willing to operate under the new space scenario: multi-launcher, multi mission agile campaign. Always in the frame of NewSpace, Mr. Diez has been the responsible for the R+D projects on microlaunchers vehicles such as airborne MLV’s ALDEBARAN (CNES) and ALTAIR (H2020), reusable (CALLISTO, CNES) and currently ongoing ENVOL (H2020) vertical concept.  GTD is responsible in beforementioned projects of the onboard SW (Safety autonomous system and GNC system) and avionics architecture design and equipment trade-off. A major outcome from the experience in those projects is the assignment of the KASSAV2 contract to Safran SAS and GTD in partnership devoted to the design of an on board AFTS for the European launchers operating from the CSG.

    Frank van Rijn holds a BSc degree in Electric Engineering from the University of Rotterdam where he graduated in 2006. Since that time he works at the Royal Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) at the department Flight test and Certification of the Aerospace Systems Division, last few years as R&D Engineer. He was involved in the design and installation of flight test instrumentation systems in military and civil aircraft (F-16, Cessna Citation II and several helicopter types i.e.; Apache, Chinook, Cougar, NH-90, KA-32), plus instrumentation systems on board of several Navy vessels. Since 2014 Frank has been the lead engineer for the integration, maintenance and updates of FTI in F-16 aircrafts for different air forces. The FTI systems vary from adding databus monitoring systems to fully distributed data acquisition systems and anything in between, facing all challenges and the limited amount of space available in these type of aircrafts.
