CONFERENCES September 22, 2022

08:45 am

Shuttle departureNovotel, Porte de Versailles, Paris  -> Safran Paris Saclay

9:30 – 10:00 am

   Welcome coffee

10:00 – 10:15 am

Introduction with Jean-Marie Bétermier, Safran Space CEO

10:15 – 11:15 am

Conference: Moving and staying in Space

Chemical propulsion is now entirely complemented with electrical propulsion. Thanks to a whole new range of platforms and launch vehicles, this new field of innovation enables new services and projections of business plans. Which keys are left in the field of space propulsion, flight dynamics and fleet management, to reach the next paradigm that will enable even further applications and businesses?

11:15 – 11:30 am

   Break

11:30 – 12:30 pm

   ConferenceConnecting Space

Most of our assets in orbit make only sense if they provide a benefit back to Earth. Connectivity between these spacecrafts and our planet are ever growing and always a bottleneck. Innovation exists at all levels (meshed networks, direct to earth, optical links, radio enhancement, onboard processing…): the panel will outline and debate what our community may expect in the short, mid and long terms.

12:30 – 02:00 pm

   Lunch break and networking

02:00 – 03:00 pm

   Conference: Access to Space

Flexible, time to space and competitive access to space is today a Must. The panel discussion will highlight the role of avionics, safety and telemetry in optimizing the flexibility, reactivity and cost of the launch system. How can we use satellite constellation to provide launcher telemetry? Can we optimize safety procedures in the spaceport to welcome mini-launchers? Can we optimize the swap of the navigation system with the new generations of IMU’s?

03:00 – 03:15 pm

   Break

03:15 – 04:15 pm

Conference: New Payloads with New Platforms

Our new ability to make smaller, faster, cheaper satellite platforms is one thing, but is no meaning without payloads and a complete system delivering a mission. While past systems were always thought to run from a single large satellite, new systems may encompass proliferation of smaller satellites, formation flying, new type of sensing, beam forming… How wide is the untapped field of business opportunities where a business idea shall simply meet a payload X platform match?

04:20 – 05:20pm

   Conference: Space Situational Awareness

With more active objects in space, more nations using space as a pillar of their sovereignty, and with the threat of increase of space debris, space situational awareness has never been so needed. Are the needs defining so different services, requiring so different data? Or can a same data serve different services?
